Market Notes

Compared to two weeks ago, feeders under 600 lbs. sold steady to 5.00 lower, with the exception of a couple larger drafts of heavy 4 weight heifers which sold 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Feeders over 600 lbs. sold 5.00 to 10.00 lower. The supply was light to moderate. A much different offering than two weeks ago with lighter offerings across the board. Smaller drafts with only a couple of light load lots mixed in and many of the heavy weight calves over 600 lbs. were also carrying a bit more flesh than what buyers prefer. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady.

Supply included: 93% Feeder Cattle (45% Steers, 55% Heifers); 7% Slaughter Cattle (89% Cows, 11% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 42%.
