Market Notes

Compared to last week, feeder cattle were very lightly tested selling mostly in small packages and singles on a light offering. There were several consignments of bred cows and pairs selling with moderate to good demand mostly bred cows 4-7 yrs in the 2nd and 3rd stage and pairs 4-6 yrs with 150-200 lb calves. A large offering of slaughter cows sold fully steady to firm with last week's aggressive market.

Supply included: 46% Feeder Cattle (28% Steers, 45% Heifers, 28% Bulls); 36% Slaughter Cattle (11% Steers, 9% Heifers, 71% Cows, 9% Bulls); 17% Replacement Cattle (72% Bred Cows, 7% Bred Heifers, 21% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 21%.
