Market Notes
Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers traded steady to 6.00 higher. Spots of light weight steer calves traded up to 10.00 higher. Demand was moderate on a moderate supply. Slaughter cows traded 3.00 to 5.00 higher and slaughter bulls traded steady. Replacement cattle supply was heavy and offered a few complete dispersals of high quality pairs and bred cows.
Supply included: 80% Feeder Cattle (36% Steers, 48% Heifers, 16% Bulls); 11% Slaughter Cattle (91% Cows, 9% Bulls); 9% Replacement Cattle (56% Bred Cows, 10% Bred Heifers, 33% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 21%.
