Compared to last week, slaughter cattle traded mostly 6.00 to 9.00 higher on a very light test. Snow and ice in SW MO last week and more coming in today led to very good demand as buyers try to fill orders on very light supplies of slaughter cattle.
Supply included: 94% Slaughter Cattle (97% Cows, 3% Bulls); 6% Replacement Cattle (50% Bred Cows, 50% Cow-Calf Pairs). AUCTION This Week Last Reported 1/23/2023 Last Year Total Receipts: 125 447 552 Slaughter Cattle: 117(93.6%) 366(81.9%) 475(86.1%) Replacement Cattle: 8(6.4%) 81(18.1%) 77(13.9%)
