Market Notes

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers under 650lbs traded 9.00 to 11.00 lower with spots down to 15.00 lower. Feeders over 650lbs were not well tested this week but traded with a lower undertone. Demand was moderate on a light supply. Quality of feeder cattle offered was below average compared to last weeks run. Uncertainty in input costs created major concern for buyers today and drove down cash prices this week.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (41% Steers, 15% Dairy Steers, 35% Heifers, 9% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 37%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 3/2/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 1,143 1,388 2,001 Feeder Cattle: 1,143(100.0%) 1,388(100.0%) 2,001(100.0%)
