Compared to last week, slaughter cows traded 1.00-2.00 lower while slaughter bulls traded steady. Demand was good on a light supply which was influenced by the heat advisories. The USDA's Cold Storage report released Monday reported pounds of beef in freezers were down slightly from the previous month and down 9 percent from last year.
Supply included: 55% Slaughter Cattle (80% Cows, 20% Bulls); 45% Replacement Cattle (16% Stock Cows, 75% Bred Cows, 6% Cow-Calf Pairs, 3% Bulls).
