Compared to last week, slaughter cows traded 2.00-4.00 higher and slaughter bulls traded 3.00-5.00 higher. Demand was good on a moderate supply which included several large groups of bred heifers and cows. The USDA's Cold Storage report released Monday reported beef in freezers was down 2 percent from last month but up 3 percent from a year ago.
Supply included: 51% Slaughter Cattle (86% Cows, 14% Bulls); 49% Replacement Cattle (22% Stock Cows, 53% Bred Cows, 17% Bred Heifers, 6% Cow-Calf Pairs, 2% Bulls).
