Archived Report

Total Run: 799

Market Notes

Compared to last week, there were too few calves across all weight ranges for an adequate comparison, however undertones for steer calves were sharply higher and for heifer calves steady to firm. Demand was very good on a very light supply. Ozarks Regional Stockyard had a delayed start due to the ice, sleet and snow across the region. With more in the forecast, Wednesday's Replacement/Slaughter Cattle sale has been cancelled with those cows on hand, deferred to the special sale Saturday. The sale started off with a pot-load of 751 lb. steers selling for 185.00, which was 9.00 higher than a pot-load of 765 lb. steers that sold last week. The USDA's biannual Cattle Inventory was released today and reported Cattle Inventory was down 3 percent from a year ago and the Calf Crop was down 2 percent.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (62% Steers, 35% Heifers, 3% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 54%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 1/24/2023 Last Year Total Receipts: 799 1,524 3,173 Feeder Cattle: 799(100.0%) 1,524(100.0%) 3,173(100.0%)
