Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves under 600 lbs. traded 4.00-8.00 higher while heavier weights traded steady to 4.00 higher. Demand was good on a light supply. The quality of the offering was average and was presented in mostly smaller packages. Calves under 600 lbs. were in the greatest demand with a light supply of feeder calves and an even lighter supply of yearlings in the offering. Both Live and Feeder Cattle Futures traded higher while Grain Futures traded lower. Additional rains across the are have improved pasture conditions with some areas seeing a second cutting of hay.
