Market Notes

Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves traded 4.00-8.00 higher with some peewee calves 12.00 higher. Feeder steers and heifers were not well tested however undertones were firm. Demand was good on a light supply of mostly calves with 61 percent of the offering weighing under 600 lbs. Receipts were higher than expected as cooler temperatures, lower humidity and rain moved across the area. Both Feeder and Live Cattle Contracts traded higher as Grain Contracts traded lower.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (44% Steers, 51% Heifers, 5% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 39%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 8/9/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 2,064 1,661 2,995 Feeder Cattle: 2,064(100.0%) 1,661(100.0%) 2,995(100.0%)
