Market Notes

Compared to last week, steer calves traded unevenly steady from 3.00 lower to 3.00 higher while heifer calves traded 3.00-6.00 higher. Yearlings traded 2.00-4.00 higher. Demand was good on a heavy supply. Average offering at ORS, for the second week of July, is 4025 head of predominately yearlings. Today's receipts were over 1000 head higher and were predominately calves, due to the continuing effects of drought across the area. The Feeder Cattle Futures were sharply higher and Corn Futures were sharply lower which helped to keep cash prices strong in spite of the increased numbers.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (47% Steers, 0% Dairy Steers, 49% Heifers, 4% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 45%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 7/5/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 5,132 3,565 3,892 Feeder Cattle: 5,132(100.0%) 3,565(100.0%) 3,892(100.0%)
