Market Notes

Compared to last week, receipts were too light for an adequate comparison, however undertones were lower for calves and steady for yearlings. Demand was light to moderate on a light supply. Heat advisories and warnings across the area made it difficult for cattle to find a new home, and in the words of my mentor, the late Dave Smith, "The only movement of cattle in this weather is towards the shade." Producers are taking advantage of the dry weather to cut and bale hay, however, some are reporting quality below average as the cool and wet spring delayed growth.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (47% Steers, 46% Heifers, 8% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 44%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 6/7/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 1,754 3,507 2,682 Feeder Cattle: 1,754(100.0%) 3,507(100.0%) 2,682(100.0%)
