Market Notes
Compared to last week, steer calves traded unevenly steady from 4.00 lower to 4.00 higher with spots 8.00 higher on 550-650 lb. steers. Yearling steers traded steady to firm. Heifer calves traded steady to 4.00 lower. Demand was moderate on a moderate to heavy supply, which included several large drafts of calves and yearlings. Receipts were closer to average, for this time of year, as warmer temperatures and sunshine have dried out roads and barnyards.
Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (48% Steers, 47% Heifers, 5% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 38%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 5/10/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 3,687 2,781 3,817 Feeder Cattle: 3,687(100.0%) 2,781(100.0%) 3,817(100.0%)
