Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold mostly steady except for some thin heifers weighing 575-625 lbs selling 5.00-8.00 higher. A nice offering of yearlings was on hand again with several loads and more yearling heifers than steers this week. Also, some really hard weaned calf weight yearlings ready to go to grass were offered and a few short weaned new crops. Demand was good for both calves and yearlings on a moderate supply. Slaughter cows sold steady, bulls 2.00 higher.

Supply included: 86% Feeder Cattle (33% Steers, 64% Heifers, 2% Bulls); 12% Slaughter Cattle (93% Cows, 7% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (41% Stock Cows, 41% Bred Cows, 18% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 60%.
