Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to 6.00 higher. It was the Annual Customer Appreciation sale at Kingsville Livestock which always brings a heavy supply of cattle and a large crowd. Demand was good and trade was active. The quality was attractive with several loads and a few multi-load lots of yearlings on offer along with several consignments of reputation calves. A large offering of 525 slaughter cows and bulls were not reported due to the heavy supply of feeders.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (50% Steers, 49% Heifers, 2% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 56%.
