Market Notes

Compared to last week, steer calves under 650 lbs sold 4.00-10.00 higher with spots up to 15.00 higher on the 450-515 lb weight range, heavier steers sold steady to 4.00 lower. Heifer calves sold mostly steady except some weaned calves weighing 450-500 lbs trading with a higher undertone to few recent comparable sales. Yearling heifers sold steady. Demand was good to very good with as good of quality on the calves that has been offered all fall. Supply was moderate to heavy despite the overnight snowfall. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady.

Supply included: 84% Feeder Cattle (48% Steers, 48% Heifers, 4% Bulls); 14% Slaughter Cattle (86% Cows, 14% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (100% Stock Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 52%.
