Market Notes

Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves traded mostly steady and yearlings sold steady to 3.00 higher. Demand was mostly moderate for calves but good in a few spots on the very best quality and yearlings found good demand as well. Supply was moderate. Much needed widespread rain fell across the region Monday. Slaughter cows sold steady when compared to the last reported market two weeks ago, bulls 3.00-5.00 lower.

Supply included: 83% Feeder Cattle (29% Steers, 61% Heifers, 10% Bulls); 14% Slaughter Cattle (72% Cows, 28% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (53% Stock Cows, 21% Bred Cows, 26% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 61%.
