Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to firm. Supply was light following the holiday weekend but some attractive consignments were still offered and saw very good demand. Slaughter cows sold uneven with the fleshier breaking cows selling steady and the boning and lean cows trading 3.00-6.00 lower. Slaughter bulls sold steady.

Supply included: 80% Feeder Cattle (51% Steers, 39% Heifers, 10% Bulls); 17% Slaughter Cattle (81% Cows, 19% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (33% Stock Cows, 67% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 51%.
