Market Notes

Compared to last week, a light test of feeders sold with a steady to weak undertone. Demand was moderate for a light supply. Cattle futures have seen sharp losses the last 3 trading sessions after a disappointing fed trade at steady money when it was thought fat cattle could gain several dollars. Slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly steady.

Supply included: 77% Feeder Cattle (48% Steers, 51% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 20% Slaughter Cattle (82% Cows, 18% Bulls); 4% Replacement Cattle (29% Stock Cows, 71% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 54%.
