Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers sold steady except for some 700-775 lb steers selling up to 5.00 higher. Heifers sold steady to 6.00 higher with the advance on those weighing 450-625 lbs. Demand was good for a moderate supply that included several nice strings and loads of home raised calves. Once again, the weather played a factor and prevented some cattle from making it town. A light test of slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 higher.

Supply included: 97% Feeder Cattle (59% Steers, 40% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 3% Slaughter Cattle (93% Cows, 7% Bulls); 0% Replacement Cattle (100% Stock Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 60%.
