Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 400-500 lbs sold firm to spots 5.00 higher, 500-550 lbs were not tested with 550-600 lbs selling 5.00-10.00 lower giving back last weeks gains which was on a very active market, 600-650 lbs sold 2.00-5.00 lower and 650-750 lbs sold steady to firm, 750-800 lbs were lightly tested and two pot loads of 915-923 lbs traded with a firm undertone. Feeder heifers weighing 400550 lbs sold firm to 5.00 higher with the most advance on the 450-550 lb heifers, 550-600 lbs sold mostly steady with 600-700 lbs selling 8.00 -10.00 lower and 700-800 lbs sold steady to firm. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm. Demand was good on a moderate supply with more fall born calves in the offering this week, despite some lower trends on the 550-650 lb steers and 600-700 lb heifers the market still remains very active, last week's market was very active with quality very good. Cattle on Feed Report was released Friday with On Feed at 96 percent, Placements at 93 percent and Marketings at 95 percent all within expectations.
Supply included: 92% Feeder Cattle (50% Steers, 48% Heifers, 2% Bulls); 8% Slaughter Cattle (4% Steers, 4% Heifers, 81% Cows, 10% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 47%.
