Market Notes

Demand was good on a moderate offering with 8 pot loads of very good quality yearlings weighing 665-900 lbs all selling on a very active market along with a very good quality offering of calves weighing mostly 450-650 lbs all selling with good demand. Slaughter cows on a very active market sold 5.00-8.00 higher, spots 10.00 higher. Live cattle futures pushed higher with the front three months closing 1.70-2.52 higher as April closed 163.35 with anticipation of Tuesday's Cattle Inventory Report being very friendly with a smaller cattle herd.
Supply included: 91% Feeder Cattle (66% Steers, 33% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 9% Slaughter Cattle (88% Cows, 12% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 61%.
