Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 400-600 lbs sold steady to firm, with 600-650 lbs selling steady to firm, spots 3.00 higher, 650850 lbs were not well tested, a pot load of 883 lb steers sold 4.00 higher than last week's pot loads of similar weight. Feeder heifers weighing 400-450 lbs sold steady to firm, with 450-600 lbs selling 5.00-8.00 higher getting back all they lost last week, with over 600 lbs not well tested. Demand was moderate to good with supply moderate, More consignments of new crop calves this week, with many carrying flesh and short weaned in the offering. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady with high dressing breakers and boners trading steady to 3.00 lower. Grain trade on Monday was pressured as May corn closed 5 1/2 lower with December corn 4 1/2 lower, heavy pressure was felt on May soybeans closing 46 cents lower with November beans 28 cents lower. Feeder cattle futures closed mostly 25 to 75 lower.

Supply included: 89% Feeder Cattle (52% Steers, 41% Heifers, 7% Bulls); 11% Slaughter Cattle (84% Cows, 16% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 32%.
