Market Notes

Compared to last week, steer calves sold mostly 14.00-18.00 lower on much lighter receipts. Heifer calves 3.00-6.00 lower, with the exception of 500-550 lbs 4.00-5.00 higher. Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to 5.00 higher on comparable sales. Trade moderate to active, demand moderate to good. Receipts were light due to moisture around the area. Slaughter cows steady to 4.00 lower. Slaughter bulls steady to 2.00 higher.

Supply included: 92% Feeder Cattle (56% Steers, 41% Heifers, 3% Bulls); 6% Slaughter Cattle (68% Cows, 33% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (90% Bred Cows, 10% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 30%.
