Market Notes

Compared to last week, Steers and Dairy Steers sold 2.00-4.00 lower. Heifers sold steady to 2.00 higher, with Dairy Heifers selling 3.00-5.00 lower. Buyer attendance for the slaughter cattle sale was light, with light to moderate demand on a light to moderate supply of cattle. Diminished demand and buyer attendance may have been due to the Monday hog sale being moved to Thursday and winter weather throughout the east coast leading up to the sale. Todays sale supply included; 218 steers, 197 heifers, 306 cows, 64 bulls, 571 calves, and 151 misc. cattle.
