Compared to last week: Feeder cattle sold steady to 2.00 higher with moderate to good demand. Steer calves steady to 2.00 lower. Heifer calves under 500 lbs 5.00-8.00 lower; over 500 lbs steady to 2.00 lower. Demand light to moderate for calves as dry conditions persist, especially in the western part of the state. High winds all week continue to zap moisture out of the soil. Just under 9 percent of the state is rated in the Exceptional drought category, 32 percent in extreme drought. 85 percent of the state is in an abnormally dry condition or worse. Slaughter cows 1.00-3.00 lower. Slaughter bulls 1.00 lower. Packer demand moderate.

Supply included: 88% Feeder Cattle (56% Steers, 41% Heifers, 3% Bulls); 9% Slaughter Cattle (85% Cows, 15% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (1% Stock Cows, 42% Bred Cows, 0% Bred Heifers, 57% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 60%.
