North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Archived Report

Total Run: 2,171

Market Notes

Compared to last week: Feeder cattle offerings too limited a week ago to offer a comparison with this week's rather limited offering. Very good demand for steers and heifers, especially for those light weight yearlings to run on this summer's grass. Big rains came to the state this week, some areas receiving 3-6 inches, which will ensure a good start to the grazing season and greatly improved the likelihood of a good hay crop. Not many cattle remain unsold, as is normal for this time of year, as the marketing season winds down until late summer/early fall. Cattle producers are feeling very bullish about the fall months as the Feeder Cattle contracts are much higher than their level for the current month.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (50% Steers, 50% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 79%.
