Compared to two weeks ago: Steer calves under 600 lbs 10.00 to 20.00 higher, over 600 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Heifer calves under 500 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 higher, over 500 lbs 6.00 to 9.00 higher. Very good demand for feeder cattle this week as all auction locations returned to their normal sale schedule after the Thanksgiving holiday break. The cash fed cattle moved higher again, 157.00-159.00, which helped to add strength to the feeder cattle market. The fed market has now reached higher levels than what the Live Cattle futures would reach in the spring months, further feeding the bullish psychology of cattle feeders. Very large auction receipts will be expected as only a couple weeks remain for feeder cattle producers who want to sell before the end of the calendar year as most locations will shut down for two full weeks for the Christmas holiday.Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (62% Steers, 38% Heifers, 0% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 27%.
