North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Archived Report

10/9/2021

Total Run: 5,912

Market Notes

Compared to last week: Still only a light offering of spring born calves, steer calves steady to 4.00 lower, few comparable sales of heifers steady to 3.00 lower. Good demand for calves however corn harvest is in full swing across the midwest which has farmer feeders' full attention currently. Cow/calf producers hung onto their calves as long as they could but as the fall season has begun they have also begun their fall marketing. Feed supplies are very short and producers are selling right off the cow as they try to stretch their feedstocks.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (66% Steers, 33% Heifers, 1% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 35%.
