North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Archived Report

4/24/2021

Total Run: 5,371

Market Notes

Compared to last week: Feeder steers 5.00 to 10.00 lower, instances to 12.00 lower. Feeder heifers 2.00 to 5.00 lower, instances to 8.00 lower under 550 lbs. Demand only moderate as the cattle futures plummet and corn rises higher. The drought is front and center on every producers mind, heifers held back as replacements continue to be offered at the auctions and much less demand from in state yearling operators. Cash fed cattle traded lower which added more pressure to the feeder cattle market.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (32% Steers, 68% Heifers, 0% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 69%.
