Market Notes

Compared to the last report two weeks ago all weights of steers were higher with 550 to 650 lbs. 13.00 to 20.00 higher; 650 to 850 lbs. were 7.00 to 12.00 higher and 850 to 900 lbs. were 2.00 higher. All weights of heifers were also higher this week with 550 to 600 lbs. 6.00 higher as the only weight to compare from the last report. Very good demand for all classes of feeders this week. New buyers in attendance which seemed to push the prices this week. Buyers paying for feeders to fill orders. It appears that the projected lower numbers of feeders for the coming year is being realized in price increases this week. Most feeders are carrying above amounts tag as the melting in lots is responsible for this. Most feeders were in moderate to moderate plus flesh condition.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (64% Steers, 36% Heifers, 0% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 72%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 2/1/2023 Last Year Total Receipts: 3,674 3,707 5,907 Feeder Cattle: 3,674(100.0%) 3,707(100.0%) 5,907(100.0%)
