Market Notes

Compared to two weeks ago: best test on 600 to 650 lbs steady. Best test on heifers 400 to 450 lbs 8.00 to 10.00 higher. Other weight classes of steers and heifers not well compared today. Good demand for this offering of many packages and quite a few loads. A few consignments of calves still coming off the cow, however, most of the offering was long time weaned. Flesh ranged from light to moderate plus, calves still on the cow and competing for feed are staying green. Quality varied, especially on packages, from plain to attractive. A moderate to active market with the normal crowd of buyers and farmer feeders in attendance this week. Next feeder cattle sale is Thursday, January 19, featuring Red Angus cattle.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (67% Steers, 33% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 41%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 12/29/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 2,990 1,400 3,602 Feeder Cattle: 2,990(100.0%) 1,400(100.0%) 3,602(100.0%)
