Demand for this large offering of eye appealing cattle was good to excellent. Steers were in biggest demand. Days weaned, shot given, as well as hide color were other factors that determined how attractive the cattle were to the buyers. Most cattle were grass green to moderate flesh. Several farmer buyers in the seats today. 13 loads of big steers weighing over 900 lbs sold today. There was definitely no shortage of optimism in the calf market today. Given the threat of a winter storm lasting a few days this week buyers were ambitious with their willingness to pay for the cattle they needed. Slaughter cows steady. Bulls steady.
Supply included: 97% Feeder Cattle (58% Steers, 42% Heifers); 3% Slaughter Cattle (90% Cows, 10% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 79%.
