Market Notes

Compared to two weeks ago: Limited price comparisons as few steers and heifers of similar weights to last sale. Feeder steers 950-1000 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher, other weights not well compared. Feeder heifers 700-750 lbs and 850-900 lbs mostly steady, other weights not well compared. A nice offering of yearlings, many long strings of light to moderate fleshed steers and heifers including many full loads and multiple load lots. The market was very active as cattle feeders want to get these yearlings placed in their yards while they have the chance, and especially so when it's a long string offered in multiple loads. There were spring born calves offered as well, the market was active on these small packages. Slaughter cows steady, bulls steady to 2.00 higher.

Supply included: 94% Feeder Cattle (38% Steers, 62% Heifers); 6% Slaughter Cattle (87% Cows, 13% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 88%.
