Compared to last week: Feeder steers steady to 5.00 higher with instances of 14.00, except 500 lbs - 600 lbs 2.00 to 7.00 lower. Feeder heifers 2.00 to 5.00 higher with instances of 10.00 except, 500 lbs - 600 lbs, 750 lbs - 800 lbs, 850 lbs - 900 lbs 1.00 to 5.00 lower. Demand for this eye appealing offering of cattle was good. Light cattle were in small quantities and not highly sought after by buyers. Buyers really sat on the end of their seats when 700 lb steers and 650 lb heifers came in the ring. Rounds of shots, hide color and cleanliness were the biggest factors affecting buyers decisions. Cattle on Feed Report came out Friday stating as of March 1 there were 4% fewer cattle on inventory over last year at the same time. Placements in feed yards was 7% lower as well. CME Feeder cattle and corn both closed lower. Slaughter cows and bulls steadyish.

Supply included: 98% Feeder Cattle (45% Steers, 55% Heifers); 2% Slaughter Cattle (92% Cows, 8% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 90%.
