Total Run: 2,700

Market Notes

Compared to last week: Steer calves sold with mostly firm undertones, instances of 2.00 to 8.00 higher on comparable kinds and quality, heifer calves steady to 3.00 higher. Yearling feeder steers steady to 2.00 higher, yearling heifers steady to 4.00 lower. Good demand remains for yearlings, especially for the long strings offered in full loads, and these sold on a very active market. The market was not as active for heifers this week as there was only 1 full load offered while the majority were small packages leaving buyers to put them together to get a load. Flesh condition ranged from light to moderate. Very good demand again for spring born calves, especially on the long strings as there was one consignment of 800 steer and heifer calves. The quality of the calves is very high and the flesh was light and attractive. These calves were lacking their fall booster shots as producers haven't been able to get them preconditioned yet, but this did not deter buyers as there were many eager buyers actively bidding trying to get these calves bought. Next feeder cattle auction will be next Fri, Sept. 3, expecting more yearlings and 2,000 head of calves.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (54% Steers, 46% Heifers, 0% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 42%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 8/20/2021 Last Year Total Receipts: 2,700 2,486 1,849 Feeder Cattle: 2,700(100.0%) 2,486(100.0%) 1,849(100.0%)
