Market Notes

Compared to last week: The only comparison of feeder steers were those 600-650 lbs, 5.00 to 8.00 higher, other weights too limited to offer a good comparison. Feeder heifers 5.00 to 10.00 higher, instances of 13.00-14.00 higher on 500-550 lbs. A lighter offering of feeder cattle this week, overall flesh condition was very attractive as the majority of consignments were in a light condition as they have just been running out and only being fed long stem grass hay. Some consignments were so green that they were rough in appearance taking away some of their eye appeal. Drought conditions, especially to the west, are still in place and producers from those regions continue to sell heifers that they normally would keep. Cattle feeders were willing to give more this week as the cash fed cattle market reached 125.00. Next special feeder cattle sale will be April 23, 2021.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (28% Steers, 72% Heifers, 1% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 41%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 3/26/2021 Last Year Total Receipts: 1,200 1,521 0 Feeder Cattle: 1,200(100.0%) 1,521(100.0%) 0(0.0%)
