Market Notes
Compared to last week; steers from 400 lbs to 599 lbs were 4.00 to 8.00 lower, steers from 600 lbs to 659 lbs were 10.00 to 12.00 lower, heifers from 400 lbs to 449 lbs were 8.00 to 10.00 lower, heifers from 500 lbs to 549 lbs were 3.00 to 5.00 higher. No other comparisons available. A very active market with more interest in the spring born calves than in previous sales this fall. A nice run of yearlings and buyers were aggressive procuring them knowing full well the available supply is diminishing rapidly. Multiple loads of one owner cattle were available in both yearlings and calves today, lots of part loads and packages available as well. Most of the calves were fully preconditioned right off the cow. Yearlings were off grass and in light to moderate flesh condition. The cattle were attractive in condition as they were clean, open haired and coming off dry pasture conditions. Extreme wind the last few days has made truck travel almost impossible. Dry conditions in the area have producers looking for available feed resources, the dryness continues to expand in size and intensity. Next feeder sale will be on Wednesday, October 14th. The first special black hided calf sale of the fall. Eat Beef!
Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (55% Steers, 45% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 32%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 10/7/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 7,811 3,694 4,129 Feeder Cattle: 7,811(100.0%) 3,694(100.0%) 4,129(100.0%)
