Market Notes
Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder steers 600 lbs to 699 lbs were steady to 6.00 lower, steers from 700 lbs to 749 lbs were 2.00 to 4.00 higher, steers from 750 lbs to 799 lbs were 2.00 to 4.00 lower, steers from 800 lbs to 899 lbs were steady with instances of 4.00 higher. Heifers from 550 lbs to 649 lbs were 4.00 to 6.00 lower, heifers from 650 lbs to 699 lbs were 2.00 to 4.00 higher, heifers from 700 lbs to 799 lbs were steady to 3.00 lower. Good demand for todays offering of fall calves, feeder cattle and replacement heifers. Several long strings (up to 8 loads in one sort) from reputation producers offered buyers the opportunity to purchase full loads with plenty of part loads and packages available for buyers to make loads. Lots of order buyers and internet bidders made for a fairly active market. Best demand for the lighter fleshed cattle suitable for summer grazing programs. Extremely dry weather continues in the area, as there were several consignments offered today that would normally show up as yearlings coming off grass later in the summer. Producers are starting to trim there inventory as the concern for summer grazing weighs on their minds. Next feeder sale will be in two weeks, April 22, 2022. So dust off your grill and enjoy BEEF.
Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (46% Steers, 54% Heifers, 1% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 83%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 3/25/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 6,797 7,539 6,118 Feeder Cattle: 6,797(100.0%) 7,539(100.0%) 6,118(100.0%)
