Market Notes

Compared to last week: Steers from 550 lbs to 599 lbs were 10.00 to 14.00 lower, steers from 600 lbs to 699 lbs were 3.00 to 4.00 lower, steers from 700 lbs to 999 lbs were 8.00 to 10.00 lower. Heifers from 650 lbs to 749 lbs were 8.00 to 12.00 lower. Market uncertainty was prevalent today as buyers wanted to buy cattle but were hesitant to stick their neck out. Flesh conditions ranged from light fleshed hay fed cattle to moderate plus back grounded cattle. Compared to previous sales there was a softer demand for some nice strings of replacement heifers today. Several consignments today offered buyers the opportunity to purchase multiple loads of one owner cattle, up to 8 loads in one instance. A lower futures market along with lower cash cattle trade this week made buyers cautious. Next feeder sale will be Friday, March 11, 2022. Be safe and eat beef.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (34% Steers, 66% Heifers, 0% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 76%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 2/25/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 5,542 2,846 4,024 Feeder Cattle: 5,542(100.0%) 2,846(100.0%) 4,024(100.0%)
