Market Notes

Compared to last week: Steer calves from 400# to 449# were $10.00 to $12.00 higher, 450# to 499# were steady to $2.00 higher, 500# to 549# were $8.00 to $10 .00 higher, 550# to 599# were $6.00 to $8.00 lower, 600# to 699# were mostly steady; Heifer calves from 400# to 449# were steady with lower undertones, 450# to 649# were generally $4.00 to $8.00 lower. No other comparisons were available. The best demand was for the full loads of really good quality calves. A good demand for the part loads, packages and full loads of the plainer type calves. Again there was a wide variation of prices within the same weight class due to quality, vaccination status and if it was a full or part load. Calves that have not been fully vaccinated are discounted severely at times. Most of the calves were unweaned, right off the cow and in light flesh condition. Lots of buyer interest with a fairly active market. A severe wind warning today and yesterday made movement of livestock rather difficult. We continue to see average to good interest in the yearling cattle with limited number available. The next feeder sale will be November 19th, expecting 7500 to 8000 or more high quality calves and yearlings. Stay safe and eat Beef

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (61% Steers, 38% Heifers, 1% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 29%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 11/5/2021 Last Year Total Receipts: 9,021 8,921 9,758 Feeder Cattle: 9,021(100.0%) 8,921(100.0%) 9,758(100.0%)
