Market Notes
Compared to last week sale: Steers calves from 400 lbs to 499 lbs were general $6.00 to $10.00 higher; steer calves from 500 lbs to 649 lbs were steady to $3.00 higher. Heifer calves from 450 lbs to 599 lbs were steady to $4.00 higher. No other comparisons available. Not many yearling in todays sale, mostly packages, thin to moderate flesh conditions as they were right off grass. Continue to see very food demand for yearlings with buyers rather aggressive at times to purchase these yearling cattle. A large crowd in attendance for today's sale with internet bidders, farmer feeders and order buyers actively bidding to own cattle. There were more buyers in attendance for todays sale compared to recent sales. Several strings of calves from reputation ranches along with part loads and packages made for a very active market as feeders are anxious to fill pens with cattle. Just about all the calves were fully preconditioned and right off the cow making them attractive and green for flesh condition. Several cancellations for today's sale as some much needed moisture in the past few days making road conditions difficult. Next feeder sale will be a special black hided calf sale with one consignment of red on Wednesday, October 20th. Stay safe and eat BEEF.
Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (66% Steers, 34% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 24%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 10/8/2021 Last Year Total Receipts: 4,129 8,022 6,530 Feeder Cattle: 4,129(100.0%) 8,022(100.0%) 6,530(100.0%)
