Market Notes
Compared to last week: Steers weighing 500 lbs to 549 lbs were 6.00 to 8.00 lower; steers weighing 550 lbs to 749 lbs were steady with lower undertones noted; feeder heifers from 500 lbs to 649 lbs were steady to 4.00 higher, feeder heifers 650 lbs to 699 lbs were steady to 2.00 lower. No other comparisons available. Good to very good demand for this nice offering of high quality steers and heifers. Several strings of cattle offered in multiple load lots gave buyers the opportunity to fill pens with one owner cattle. Lots of part loads and packages available today as producers clean out pens. Flesh conditions ranged from light fleshed hay fed cattle to moderate plus cattle. Better demand for the light fleshed cattle. There was a large crowed on hand for todays sale with a few farmer feeders and lots of order buyers competing with those buyers on the internet, all wanting to fill orders or refill feedlot pens. Replacement heifer buyers had multiple opportunities today to procure cattle, several weather related cancellations shortened up the numbers buy not the quality. Most of the cattle were clean with little to no tag. Next feeder sale is scheduled in two weeks, March 26, 2021. Stay safe.
Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (56% Steers, 44% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 77%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 3/5/2021 Last Year Total Receipts: 6,360 4,024 1,531 Feeder Cattle: 6,360(100.0%) 4,024(100.0%) 1,531(100.0%)
