Market Notes

Compared to last week: No comparison is available to last week the sale was canceled due to the weather. However, both feeder steers and heifers were trending much lower than two weeks ago amid the conflicts in Europe and rising feed costs. Supply was strong, quality was average for the most part. Demand was weak at the begining of the sale but picked up around mid session and finished good. Cows and bulls were not viewed due to time constraints.

Supply included: 85% Feeder Cattle (35% Steers, 42% Heifers, 23% Bulls); 15% Slaughter Cattle (100% Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 21%.
