Market Notes

Compared to two weeks ago weaned steer fall calves under 700 lbs sold sharply higher. Most of those lots sold 15.00 to 20.00 higher. Feeders over 700 lbs sold steady to 5.00 higher. Heifers sold fully steady to 5.00 higher. In house and internet buyers bid readily from start to finish on all offerings. Buyers perked up this week as there has been a little hope that there could be some summer grass for grazing as a nice general rain came in the trade area last weekend. Next sale will be Friday May 13, featuring cow/calf pairs and bred cows.

Supply included: 86% Feeder Cattle (53% Steers, 47% Heifers); 14% Slaughter Cattle (100% Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 70%.
