Total Run: 5,700

Market Notes

Compared to two weeks ago, steers under 700 lbs sold 10.00 to 12.00 higher, over 700 lbs sold steady to 4.00 higher. Heifers under 650 lbs sold 10.00 to 15.00 higher and over 650 lbs sold 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Demand was good from start to finish with several buyers staying to the end to fill orders. A very large sale for this time of year with a variety of type, condition and quality throughout the day. Flesh scores ranged from thin to fleshy. The sharply higher market was a surprise to many as the cattle boards have fell off this week and corn traded sharply higher on Wednesday. But, sale receipts are going to be light in the very near future and orders had to get filled today. Next Wednesday, will be a special calf and feeder auction.

Supply included: 94% Feeder Cattle (57% Steers, 43% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 6% Slaughter Cattle (100% Cows); 0% Replacement Cattle (100% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 79%.
