Market Notes

Compared to last week slaughter steers and heifers were 3.00 lower with lower packer interest this week. Holstein slaughter steers were also 3.00 lower today. Cows were 1.00 higher with good value on breaker cows and active bidding and bulls were 1.00 to 2.00 higher. With a light offering of feeder calves today they were too few to compare and were trending lower. h

Supply included: 6% Feeder Cattle (9% Steers, 45% Heifers, 45% Bulls); 94% Slaughter Cattle (39% Steers, 11% Dairy Steers, 32% Heifers, 13% Cows, 5% Bulls, 1% Bullocks). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 54%.
