Market Notes

Compared to last week, slaughter steers were steady to 1.00 higher with slaughter heifers instances of higher/lower with a good offering of higher quality steers and heifers with active buyer participation. Holstein slaughter steers were 1.00 to 2,00 higher today. Cows were sharply lower and bulls with instances of higher/lower. All classes of feeder calves were too few to compare but were trending lower this week.

Supply included: 8% Feeder Cattle (28% Steers, 44% Heifers, 28% Bulls); 92% Slaughter Cattle (41% Steers, 2% Dairy Steers, 36% Heifers, 19% Cows, 2% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 28%.
