Market Notes

Compared to last week, slaughter steers and heifers were 1.00 to 3.00 higher with active buyer participation and a good offering. Holstein slaughter steers were 4.00 to 5.00 higher today. Cows were uneven with a higher undertone and bulls 6.00 higher. Feeder steers were trending higher with feeder heifers instances of higher/lower and feeder bulls sharply higher this week.

Supply included: 30% Feeder Cattle (12% Steers, 48% Heifers, 40% Bulls); 70% Slaughter Cattle (35% Steers, 8% Dairy Steers, 38% Heifers, 17% Cows, 1% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 18%.
