Market Notes

Compared to last week, slaughter steers and heifers were 1.00 to 2.00 higher with a good offering of higher quality steers and heifers with active bidding. No data on Holstein steers last week but higher quality Holstein steers at a very good value today. Cows had instances of higher/lower and bulls were 2.00 to 4.00 higher this week. Feeder steers and feeder heifers were trending lower but fancy and value added steers and heifers were at a higher value and feeder bulls had instances of higher/lower with active buyer participation on all feeders today.

Supply included: 27% Feeder Cattle (8% Steers, 9% Dairy Steers, 55% Heifers, 28% Bulls); 73% Slaughter Cattle (34% Steers, 9% Dairy Steers, 26% Heifers, 28% Cows, 2% Bulls, 1% Dairy Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 39%.
